MMM 11/14/2016

Hi all,
Just so everyone knows, I will be having a little different Monday Morning Assembly this week.  We will be talking more about using kind words.  The reason is we've had some racial comments surface due to the recent elections that we need to talk about.  I will focus on how to disagree and harnessing our superpower (Kindness).  Please give me feedback on this assembly.  For this week, I would like for all of us to look at Standard 2 which is Learning Differences and one of the four standards we will be evaluated on this month.  The indicators are as follows:

2.1: Allows learners multiple ways to demonstrate learning sensitive to diverse experiences, while holding high expectations for all (2a, 2b, 2c, 2d).
?
  •  Not Effective
  •  Emerging Effective - Minimally Effective
Applies understanding of learner diversity to encourage all learners to reach their full potential.
  •  Effective
    ...and
    - Uses learner differences as an asset to adapt, and deliver instruction for all learners.
    - Provides students multiple ways to demonstrate learning.
  •  Highly Effective
    ...and
-Contributes to a school-wide culture that encourages learner perseverance and advancement.
    - Connects multiple perspectives to encourage learners to learn from each other.

To Be Aware Of
  • Here is your evaluation code.  Code 1-3 & A are on full evaluations and B & C are on the choose up to 5 to be observed on.  Here is a link to the evaluation schedule.  Once you have scheduled an evaluation, please schedule with me a pre evaluation meeting no later than the morning of your evaluation.  I've done a few so far and I am so excited about what is happening at our school. To Clarify.  Everyone needs to schedule an observation time.  Even those who are on the B/C schedule.  I still need to come in and observe you with the up to 5 you choose.  Please sign up.  Those on the B/C schedule, if November doesn't work for you, you can choose a time in December and January.
  • Here is a link to your duty schedule.  Again, Please be seen! Especially those who are on parking lot/car duty.  You may need to step in the way to make sure cars take turns.  If you have questions, please talk to me about how I do it.
  • Continue to think about what you need to keep and what you need to get rid of as we prepare for our move in about 6 months.  It is coming up fast. Remember, we won't be taking over any file cabinets.  There should be enough drawers for any files you use each year in your new room.  Anything else needs to be purged, scanned to your computer, or taken home.
  • Collaboration starts in the library today.

Thanks to Sarah for letting me come in and do a lesson with her class.  Her class is pretty amazing!
Mary did a great lesson incorporating Beethoven.  She loves classical music and she had helped her students love it as well.
You should see Madison's moves.  She can dance and so can her class.
Alyssa Whetton has kids with some great math skills.

Great Video of the Week
This is the video I will be showing to the students in the assembly today.
